Welcome to our visitors
This week we welcomed....
Michelle Connor from Barwon Rotaract Club - Michelle informed us that her club is taking on a "Peace" theme next year, and that they are also sponsoring a participant to attend Ryla.  We are wanting to strengthen the links between our clubs so we will keep each other informed about our goals and activities.

Debra Walker and family.  We are sponsoring Debra to attend the National Youth Science Forum in Canberra in January.  Debra is so thrilled to be going and promised to come back to Rotary and let us know all about her experience.

Noah Park from Mission to Seafearers.
'Mission to Seafearers' volunteers met over 650 ships last year and supported many sailors while their ships were docked in Geelong for periods between 2 days and a week. Often these workers have been on the sea for 6-10 months at time. There are many different languages spoken by the crew, with only some having English as a second language. It is tough, lonely and harsh work and the workers miss their families. Mission to Seafearers helps connect the sailors with their families, via the internet and mobile phones and help them find the services they need whilst in Geelong. They also provide a library with donated books (so if you have any spare - why not drop them off - they are open every day).
Thanks Noah for sharing with us all the important work 'Mission to Seafearers' does in the Geelong region and has done so for the last 100 years.

Having problems thinking of gift for Christmas?

With the Christmas rush now on and the shops full of gifts, glitz and ‘stuff’, have you got the time, energy and motivation to go shopping for Christmas gifts that might be the wrong size, shape, colour, unappreciated, unwanted, superfluous or quietly discarded after the Christmas glow fades….?
If this sounds like you, then solve the problem easily through the Rotary Club of Grovedale Waurn Ponds’  Gifting Program and buy a gift that will be really needed, appreciated, useful and possibly save lives.
Which type of gift would you prefer to give?
Make a donation to one of Rotary’s many projects as a gift on behalf of someone else.  You will receive a card to give to your recipient to indicate what you have done.  There will be no doubt they will be impressed by such a humanitarian gift that will improve the lives of those less fortunate - and it comes with the assurance that 100% of your monetary gift will reach the Rotary project of your choice.
What better gift could you give to embrace the spirit of Christmas?  – but remember, such gifts via the Gifting Program are also suitable for weddings, anniversaries, bereavements and other occasions throughout the year.
At this time of year though,
HAPPY CHRISTMAS TO YOU,
In the hope that your generous donation will also mean a
HAPPIER LIFE ALL THROUGH THE YEAR FOR  SOMEONE ELSE.
