The International Committee and the Board have agreed to proceed with the House of Angels Support program. This is a really exciting initiative which will provide additional support for the children at the House of Angels community centre in Coffee Bay, South Africa. Our club is partnering with the House of Angels founders (April Selby and Dawn Renfrey) to help broaden the support base and assist in raising funds for ongoing and project support. How it works. The project is launched in phases. The first phase is an opportunity for 55 individuals, families or groups to commit to donating $100.00 per year on an ongoing basis. A number of people have shown interest in the program already and are keen to be involved - so we thought we would give it a go. There is no obligation to continue to retain your sponsorship of the House of Angels and places can be redirected to new sponsors on our waiting list – this way we will always have people who can join. Launched last Wednesday at Rotary Last Wednesday, Leon and Dawn launched the program. Rotary members and the House of Angels network are being offered the opportunity to participate first. Leon will be asking for names of people who would like to be part of the program. The House of Angels and the International Committee will provide participants with email updates 3-4 times a year to let them know about how the funds are being spent and the difference it is making. The second phase will be to market the program in the broader community. The bi-product of this will create interest in our great club and hopefully also create interest in our Auction night. Thanks for considering this opportunity. We can only give it a go and see what happens! Contact Leon, Dawn or Cheryle if you are interested in a sponsorship. |
