House of Angels - Briefing night.
The team who visited the House of Angels in August provided a very informative and entertaining presentation about their journey, adventures and the work they accomplished. The two Rondavels were re-roofed, one of the doors was replaced with a brand new door, swings for the children were built and 2 water tanks were installed. 17 suitcases of supplies including clothing, soccer balls, computers and 'Days for Girls' kits for the local schools were carted all the way from Geelong to Coffee Bay. Special thanks to Belmont Rotary club, Anglesea Primary School and Lorraine Bowkett for their kind donations. Well done to the GWP Rotary Club members for all their hard work - raising funds and supporting this special project.
What's this whoozin????
'whoozin' is an app that enables us to collect RSVP's to events and meetings in a very easy accessible way. It provides a report for simple administration of these events.
Jordy will be sending you whoozin invites via email.
It is important to know that you have to reply to whoozin to be included in the catering numbers for the meeting or event being advertised. You are not automatically counted in - you have to reply. Please respond to whoozin invites as quickly as possible and no later than the Tuesday before the event. If you do not have access to email - please respond to Rice Village in the usual way. If you have any questions about whoozin please discuss with Jordy or Cookie.
Update on Oberon South Breakfast Program - David Carlyle
I know at times we all wonder about the value of this Breakfast we do. However recently whilst I was speaking to the Principal she said “I hope you all realise how much we appreciate the work The Rotarians are doing. If not for you there would be 6 -10 children who did not get breakfast”. Or words to that effect.
On a positive over the last month or so several people have reported doing up to 18 breakfasts , and several around 14. John and Jenny used over a loaf of bread.
With all this positive feedback we will continue on into the foreseeable future.
And to the little band of helpers
THANKYOU.
