Dr Jessie Harman, a member of the Rotary Club of Wendouree Breakfast and a past District Governor of our District, has been selected as the Rotary International Director for Zone 8. This includes Australia, New Zealand , the Pacific Islands and New Guinea. She is the first female to have been selected for this role and her appointment was confirmed by RI President Mark Maloney on December 1 2019. Jessie has a most distinguished record of service to Rotary already. She was District Governor in 2010-2011, Rotary Co-ordinator at Zone level, served as project leader for the Regional Membership Plan for Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands as well as governor-elect training co-ordinator for Australia. Internationally, Jessie has been training leader and seminar trainer at the International Assembly in San Diego and in 2019 is Chair of the RI Membership Committee. She is on the organizing committee for the 2020 Honolulu RI Convention. We wish Jessie congratulations and best wishes on her appointment and wish her all the best for the future.
