President's Ponderings
  Wednesday 13 November
Meeting Number 2000

The meeting at Rice Village last week was very interesting. After dining on pizza and garlic bread (thanks Jordan) those members in attendance heard from Peter Codd regarding his fundraising efforts for Team Codd. To date the team has raised over $15,000 for heart research - congratulations to all the team!
We then had a discussion on the upcoming AGM on 20 November. Several ideas were floated as to the possible team structure for the 2020 - 2021 Rotary year.
We still need members to give their consideration to filling positions - President, President Elect, Secretary, Treasurer and Committee Chairs. One idea was that we have a sharing of the President's role, but no one volunteered!
Nomination forms should be available again on Wednesday night!

Please give some thought to your availability to help with the roster for the Bunnings BBQs and the visits to the nursing homes before Christmas. Gary and Jan will be looking for volunteers.

Rotary should be fun for everyone - are you enjoying Rotary?

Rotary Clubs of Australia Drought Appeal

ABOUT THE APPEAL

Farmers are in crisis. Record high heat and record low rainfall mean their livestock is starving. Their crops are dying.. Many farmers and their families are suffering in silence.

The Rotary Clubs of Australia have partnered with Channel 9, Great Northern Brewing Company and bendigo Bank to raise funds and in-kind donations for the drought affected communities across Australia.

The appeal is administered by Bendigo Bank's charitable arm, Community Enterprise Foundation.

WHERE DOES THE MONEY GO?

Money raised will be used to provide charitable relief in locally identified drought affected areas by supporting projects that assist in the relief, recovery and reconstruction for drought affected persons and communities across Australia, following a consultation process with these communities..

HOW TO MAKE DONATIONS

1. Donations can be made via the following link: www.bendigobank.com.au/rotary drought
