Wednesday 29 January 2020

Meeting Number 2009

Thank you to everyone who contributed to the discussion on the distribution of our contributions to the bushfire relief appeals. As you can see from the list below there are many to choose from, depending on your interests. I believe the Board now has some indication of member's ideas.

The final meeting for January on Wednesday 29 January will be a business meeting, with time for committees to discuss plans for the New Year, discussion of issues affecting members and finally a Board Meeting. If you would like any issues to be included on the agenda for the night please contact either Secretary Peter or President John.

Please consider whether you can attend the 50th Birthday celebrations for East Geelong Club, to be held on Sunday 23 February. Can we get a table together?

The other event to remember is the District Conference in Swan Hill from Friday 20 March to Sunday 22 March. Please talk about it with your partners and organize your accommodation ASAP if you intend going!

We are in the second half of this Rotary year. Has your Committee achieved anything? What must be done now? What will the Annual Report look like? Is it a true reflection of the Club activity?

BE INVOLVED. HELP THOSE WHO REQUIRE OUR ASSISTANCE. ENJOY YOUR ROTARY EXPERIENCE.

ROTARY ADVENTURE IN CITIZENSHIP 2020

The Club has been invited to sponsor a Year 11 student to attend the Rotary Adventure in Citizenship program in Canberra in May 2020.

This program is organized by the Rotary Clubs of Canberra and Woden. The aim is to give students an in-depth understanding of Australia's Parliamentary democracy and what it means to be an Australian citizen. A large part of the program is held in Parliament House and involves Members of Parliament and Senators, as well as opportunities to go places, engage in activities and meet people not normally available to visitors to Canberra.

Entries will close mid February. If you know of any interested students please contact our Youth Director - Jordan Bryson
